Patrick Thompson is all city, all the time. A young doctor, once full of passion, now disillusioned by the practice, he sets off across the country, intent on a small breather before a fresh start.
Ivy Lang loves the country way. So much so that she’s created a place where others can experience her ideas of the fundamentals for both mind and body. The life is perfect for her, carefully cultivated by her own hands.
He’s waiting for something to inspire him.
She finds inspiration all around her.
But when a chance meeting turns their worlds upside down, can they come together to create something beautiful?
I’m a huge C.M. Foss fan! So, when I was asked about reviewing her latest book, I of course jumped at the chance! And in true C.M. Foss fashion, she left me with with an epic book hangover. City Beautiful is aptly named because it is such a beautiful story.
Patrick is a city doctor who has just had enough of the life and is burned out. He wants a change in life and when he stumbles upon Ivy he definitely gets one! Ivy is the only one left living of her family. She’s all alone in the world with the exception of her animals. She’s afraid to get close to anyone else for fear of them leaving her. These two are the most unlikely of couples, and that’s what I love about them! Can Ivy show Patrick the simple things in life are often the most important? Can Patrick break down Ivy’s walls?
Take a magnificent story line with unforgettable characters and flawless writing and what do you have….City Beautiful! Definitely one of my favorite books this year! 5+++ stars once again for C.M. Foss!
